Sex, Drugs and Being an Escort - Ashly Lorenzana

Bio: Ashly Lorenzana was born in October of 1987 in Portland, OR and has remained living in the state ever since. After spending most of her childhood in a small town along the Oregon Coast, she returned to Portland in 2005 at the age of seventeen. Shortly after the move, she discovered that her mother was working as an escort in order to support her addiction to crystal meth. Ashly was also an addict, and soon became curious enough to try her luck in the now extinct Craig's List "erotic services" section.

For the next five years, Ashly worked as an independent escort in the Portland area. She is now an established "provider" of adult experiences, with outstanding reviews on national forums and review boards such as The Erotic Review and TNA Board. With more than five years of struggling with substance abuse, she is also familiar with the consequences of that lifestyle.

Ashly's passion for writing started years ago, when she was still attending school. She has kept blogs and personal journals periodically for several years. "Sex, Drugs & Being an Escort" is her first published work.

Product description: My name is Ashly and for the past several years I have worked as a female escort. I started out by advertising in the now extinct Craig's List "erotic services" section. Having lived with my grandparents for most of my childhood, moving to Portland from the Oregon Coast gave me a chance to spend some time with my mother.

Like her, I'm a drug addict with a decided preference for crystal meth or "uppers" in general. In an odd and unexpected way, it was our addictions that brought us "together." It always seemed to be a man that ended up forcing us apart again.

Many new experiences were waiting for me in Portland, some of which I would never have imagined. Moving to Portland is where it all started.

This book is a scattered personal journal chronicling the last several years of my very unconventional life.

Q: What will e-readers like about your book?
While my memoir is certainly not for everyone, I think that open-minded and experimental individuals will enjoy the journal format as well as the raw reality with which the book was written. It is a very private gimpse into my life, as an escort, drug addict and human being.

Q: Why did you go indie?
Due to the controversial subject-matter and the unique format of my writing, I came to the conclusion that self-publishing was a more appropriate option for me. I also wanted 100% freedom to publish it as-is, without making changes. Self-publishing offered the most freedom, and this was of the utmost importance to me as an author.

Q: Who are your favorite authors in your genre?
To be honest, I am fairly unread in the memoir genre. My favorite books are mostly fantasy novels and other works of fiction. I'm a huge J.K. Rowling fan, as well as Anne Rice, Angela Carter, Vladimir Nabokov and many others.
