Q: What will e-readers like about your book?
What I wanted to give you in Hush Money was a well-paced read that pulls you into Joss’s world, into her life. I think you’ll root for her as she finds her way through the complications of the story, because I think a lot of people can identify with things she goes through. I hope you’ll be charmed by Dylan as his interest in Joss and her problems helps him grow as a person. You’ll hate Marco. You should. He’s a dick. I think you’ll do some laughing, roll your eyes a few times, possibly growl, and say, “Yep, been there, done that too…only, you know, without the superpower thing.”
Q: Why did you go indie?
There’s a notion out there: if you can’t stand to wear pantyhose and heels, you shouldn’t set out to work for a company which requires that dress code. At least at this point in my life, I don’t see a good fit between the traditional publishing system and the way I want to work. I don’t want it subject to someone else’s schedule, or shaped at the whim of a committee. Nor do I want my books, or my readers, encumbered by DRM. Ownership and control are important to me.
