Crimson Soul - Timothy McCaughan

Bio:

Timothy Cody McCaughan was born in Delaware, where he lived his first twenty-three years. He enjoys video games, movies, and X-23 comic books--kind of a geek, but that's alright, because he works in the video game industry; and let's face it, that type tends to fit in. He currently resides in Seattle, Washington.

Product description:

Each generation shall see a Bell Maiden chosen. Aided by her Bell Servant, they are to close the Bell Gate before Hell is released on Earth. Enter Crimson Harper and Melissa O'Shea--the latest Bell Maiden and Bell Servant in a lineage that stretches back hundreds, perhaps thousands, of years. They know how to find the Bell Gate; they know what must be done once they find it; but nothing could have prepared them for the horrors that await them on their journey. Every purpose has a goal. Every journey has a destination. And with courage and loyalty, Crimson and Melissa will learn that "happily ever after" is in the eye of the beholder.

The first in a series, Crimson Soul is a young adult supernatural horror novel of over 71,000 words.

Q: What will e-readers like about your book?

I think readers will enjoy the contrasts between the two protagonists, Crimson and Melissa, and the quirky, sometimes peculiar sense of humor they bring to an otherwise morbid situation. There's also a healthy amount of mind tripping that will have readers questioning what is real and what is not.

Q: Why did you go indie?

There's no denying e-books are a totally viable, insanely rapidly growing market. If you have yourself a good editor and the spare time to market, it's the perfect solution for someone who wants to be an author while also working a day job.

Q: Who are your favorite authors in your genre?

I would of course be remiss if I did not pay sufficient homage to the master Stephen King.
