I think there are two things readers will really like. One, the main character, Gwen Michaels, is a strong female all the way through the book. No getting caught by the bad guy at the end. The second thing is the fast pace. When I read, I tend to skim a lot of the descriptive stuff, so in Secrets I left a lot of that out and focused on the mystery and the characters.
Q: Why did you go indie?
For the freedom and control. I can finish a book on Wednesday and have it for sale by Saturday. From what I've heard about traditional publishers, it can be a year or more before your book is published. I also love that my book remains what I wanted it to be. No one is telling me to change it.
Q: Who are your favorite authors in your genre?
My all time favorite author is Lee Child. I really love his Jack Reacher character. Another favorite is Harlen Coben. Nobody takes a little event and turns it into a can't put it down mystery like he can.
