5ive Speed - Charley Warady

Charley Warady was a stand-up comedian, headlining colleges and clubs across the United States before moving to Israel in 1996 because it was something he had never done before. He continues to do stand-up comedy, as well as writing, blogging, and podcasting. As part of his stand-up comedy while living in Israel, he has toured the world as co-founder of the Israeli-Palestinian Comedy Tour. Writing remains his primary passion; joy and incredible abundance his main goal.

What will e-readers like about your book?

From a review by Jill A. S. on Amazon: "...The twists and turns that ensue, following the lives of these two apparently dysfunctional families, keep the reader chuckling and then laughing and then howling out loud as life presents itself on its own terms. Written with both amazing humor and yet thoughtful characterizations, this fast moving novel is aptly named."

Why did you go indie?

After going through the process of getting a literary agent in both the States and the UK, I got a reputable agent in London. She loved the book and tried to sell it to mainstream publishers in the UK. They all liked it, but said it was "too American". American agents backed away because it didn't fit easily into any publisher's classifications. One very well known agent in NY told me it literally hurt her that she had to refuse representation because she loved the book and knew a mainstream publisher wouldn't touch it. Well, the fact is, I loved the book too much to throw it away. I went indie.

Q: Who are your favorite authors in your genre?
