Product description:
After her older sister relinquishes her birthright as a cupid in order to marry a human, seventeen-year-old Venus Hart learns that she’s next in line to take over for her. While she doesn’t mind the fact that she has to take cupid lessons from a very cute, but completely off-limits tutor, or shoot a bow and arrow, she’s not too thrilled she also has to pass a test. Venus quickly learns that being a cupid isn’t as easy as it looks. She discovers that the one thing everyone really does want in life is to love and be loved in return—even cupids.
Q: What will e-readers like about your book?
Even though she comes from a family of cupids, Venus, the main character, has a lot of the same issues and fears that most teenagers have. Plus, she’s funny and makes a fool of herself on more than one occasion. Did I mention there’s also romance?
Q: Why did you go indie?
My former agent came close to selling the novel to an editor in NYC, but the editor just couldn’t get a yes from the editorial board. I loved Venus so much that I couldn’t bear to set her story aside and not give readers an opportunity to live in her world for a while.
Q: Who are your favorite authors in your genre?
I’d have to say Cassandra Clare, Mandy Hubbard and Maggie Stiefvater. They make me laugh, they make me cry and most importantly, they write stories that stay with me long after I finish the last page.
